My point being, once a thread gets moved to Omni, its readership changes and the topic gets mingled in with a bunch of things not even remotely technological. At this moment, the Omni front page includes thrreads about gay priests, polictics, plumbing problems, capital punishment and sports. The oldest thread on the first page is from 2 hours ago (compared to 26 in this one), so topics that do not get quickly refreshed die.

I don't know about others, but the chances of my visiting Omni on any sort of a egular basis ranges from unlikely to nonexistent. That place is a cesspool for flamewars, IMHO, and not what I come to flyertalk for.
