First, avoid making personal attacks, they are prohibitted in FT. Given that you are an admitted newbie, I'll let it slide.
Second, nothing in the posting of a route is an insult to the airlines or its employees. I generally agree, as evidenced by my postings in other threads, that embarrising a company is a poor decision and that it's just as important to be a good consumer as it is to be a good company. However, the argument that we shouldn't discuss publically available corporate policy because it will embarris the corporation seems more a conclusion in search of a rationale than a reasoned opinion.
Third, the threat that you won't share anything with me because I am a "spoiler" is meaningles because you weren't going to share anything anyway -- that is the whole point to your argument, to keep information secret.
It all comes back to the same consideration - noone has to be member of the MR community, but noone should bash those that are.
responding to your points:
First) I don't think that was a personal attack.
Third) You are missing the point. It is not a threat to you. It is pointing out that the behavior of posting long term useful info about creative routings and other loopholes will get these things "fixed" and you and everyone else will never be able to use them again. Ever.
