Visa transfer...
I would apply as soon as you can. Beware, they like to take full passports and then call them "damaged" and stuff you at that point.
I would leave a couple of pages blank if you can, so that any visas that you have in passport A can be used again. You may need a letter from your employer saying that you travel a lot etc.
If you only have one page blank, expect to be denied boarding for South Africa by BA.
