LAX
LAX's RCC is about the same as most RCC's throughout the US. It's reasonably large (i've always managed to get a seat there), it located opposite gate 71A (usually the Ted gate to Vegas). Gate 77 down the end is a little bit of a trek but OK.

Yes, foods and drinks are available. Alcoholic drinks - you have to pay but they may give you a few RCC free vouchers upon entry if you ask and you are flying international. Foods change throughout the day, but only prepackaged snacks, as well as almost always apples and oranges. The prepackaged snacks range from brie cheese, tolberone in mini packets, ruffles original chips, bread crisps, jelly belly beans, cookies, etc. They usually have 2-3 prepackaged foods avaialble at any one time.

There is a water dispenser, and the ability for you to use the nescafe or similiar machine for coffee, hot choclate, etc.

The bathrooms are pretty rough, usually 3 cubicles, 3 basins. There are about a dozen to 16 desks in the main area which are large, have phones and lamps and then around the corner there are smaller study like desks in cubicles, again phoens and power sockets there.

Wireless internet is only provided by boingo.com (not T-mobile, so beware - you can subscribe for $9.95 for a 1 day or $21.95 for 1 month and get 1 month free). They have a mini business centre with fax machine, fed ex, etc.

Magazine selection is the skyshop inflight mag or the UA inflight mag (ho hum...) sometimes they may put out other mags (like Latin Business which was there last weekend). Also occasionally (typically in the morning) you'll find copies of USA Today on the centre tables near the windows.

There is a helpdesk for you to do your pre-departure OK to leave stamps and passport checks so you don't have to do it at the gate, upgrades, etc. Staff are far more friendly in here than outside.

Hope that helps... BTW - it closes at 11pm each evening.
