That's what I have to do in Club - husband says I can have window EITHER on outbound OR on return... although I normally persuade him to let me swap during my three hour sleep on the outbound too (since I don't like sleeping "exposed" to the cabin and he doesn't sleep on the outbound leg...)

In economy I normally "let" him take the middle seat - merely because I don't like sitting next to strangers. Think it gives him more "encouragement" to travel in premium cabins too
