you can request missing points via the hertz website so you don't need to wait on the customer service telephone line.

one benifit of all this is that when you ask for points after the fact, at least in my experience, you don't get charged the $2. If your company won't reimburse you for the miles charge, this is a way to save yourself a few bucks - after 50+ rentals in a year, it starts to add up.
