I'm trying to send an SMS (from the US) to someone in the UK using my Virgin prepaid UK Sim to keep my prepaid account alive, but I get "no service - SOS only" each time I put in my Virgin UK SIM.

Any tips on why I can't get my SIM card to see service on T-Mobile or anyone else that will allow me to send an SMS or am I stuck?
