Perhaps this is the first step in converting some mainline routes to Australian Airlines (sure there is no business class but look we've given you premium economy instead!)?
Either to Australian Airlines or to Jetstar International - pick your poison. I'd be very surprised if the likes of Hawaii, Manila, maybe Jakarta and Bangkok didn't all disappear from mainline in the nearish future. What a brave new world indeed!
