Yup. In that case they (expedia) have 45 days to reply to Amex.
I had a similar issue with LH where they (LH) charged my Amex card twice for a £4k club ticket, and refused to acknowledge it! I spoke to Amex about it and they sorted it with LH. My cc account was credited immediately with £4k, and then when LH replied (after about a month), my account showed a refund of £4K from LH and a debit of £4k to return what Amex had credited in there in the interim. The bloke I spoke to in Plat Card services could not have been more helpful or polite. ^
