Sorry that you had to bother with calling the supervisor, etc. but in the end, you
did get a hotel room, right? The noon checkout time is standard for Singapore hotels. I would call ahead and ask the hotel whether they can extend to you the courtesy of a late checkout.
Even if that were not to be possible, just because you've checked out of the hotel doesn't mean you have to spend 11 hours at Changi. Store your bags with the concierge upon checkout; eat and do a little shopping or sightseeing in town; and then pick up your bags and head to Changi just early enough time to shower / freshen up and have a drink (or two

) at the SKL prior to your flight.
This option really doesn't sound too stressful, does it?
