It's apparent that you have never sat in 31AB or 31HJ (or you forgot that row 31 is the exit row with about six feet of legroom between the seat and the lav).

To the OP: With LRTC, 31A and 31J will have reduced legroom due to the emergency slide buldge at the bottom of the door. With MRTC, the exit row was pushed back several inches so that the slide wasn't as big a deal. With LRTC, the exit row is giving back that extra space.

Some people report using the slide as an ottoman - if you do, be prepared for a scolding from the FAs, since there's a printed warning not to sit on it, IIRC.
