I myself have a gold license , it's the one gold card that I don't have to pay more for!

Hey, it's been three months and I've stayed clean! 120 and not one click over that on the Bayshore.... I now have my Sony-Ericsson keitai with bluetooth headset.. and I'm trying hard to park legally. I do NOT want to spend a day at the driving license centre watching a gruesome video in Japanese having some guy spouting statistics at me! That will come soon enough when I have to renew my license.

By the way Q Shoe Guy, congratulations on the Gold license. (We had a name for people like you in school! )

Talking about renewing...I will need to renew it about 1 month before I leave Japan. What do you reckon the odds are on me getting caught if I forget? What do you reckon the penalty would be? Immediate deportation?
