This is the only time I have disagreed with seatguru. I flew in 1B from IAH to CDG and was not bothered at all by the galley. Most of the galley activity is in front of E, K and L. I will take the front row any day. No one in front of you reclining into your lap. And you shouldn't be bothered by 1A leaving his/her seat even when everyone is fully reclined.
I ditto this poster . No Galley problem and no ones head over my feet allows me to put my backpack on the footrest and have my feet up higher so I am not sliding down all night
