I'll let someone who's already worked this out numerically post a "yes" or "no" answer, but my advice is don't always be fooled by plain numbers.

As your OP title suggests, all miles aren't equal...that applies to redemption rates and earning rates. 1 BA Mile doesn't necessarily equal 1 AA mile in terms of ease of earning, etc. Now someone will probably point out that's true but it's easier to earn on AA too. Then someone else will say that's true, but then BA are in profit and AA aren't. And then someone will say something irrelevant about fish and we'll go off-topic. This is Sunday night on the BA Board after all
