I have no idea why Delta supports this site, but I got 100 miles out of it for free.
Presumably Points.com bought the miles from Delta, it's a marketing cost to acquire new customers.

But in addition to transfers Points.com also provides technological solutions for several programs' mileage transfer and purchase options.
