Ok, I'm a bit confused on this...

I looked over the ExecuStay Corporate Apartment offerings and T&C's and it says you earn 2.5 marriott points per 1$ spent which is worse than my 10 points per 1$ spent at the CY but I may have to move. My question is, staying at an ExecuStay count toward status? That is, if I stay 75 nights at an ExecuStay is that going to make me platinum? Or do I just get 2.5 points as if I was to use the MR Visa?
