NWA Changes Flight Times on me and wants me to pay $100 + fees to change them back.

Hello. Hope someone can help me on this one. Im GOLD with AA, and fly alot with them, and have been in situations like this where AA has taken care of me. The funny thing is that this trip will give me silver status (on the flight back) with NWA. I called NWA on this and they said in few words Im SOL unless I want to pay a $100.00 Change fee + difference to change my flight times. It is a non-refundable ticket. Hopefully someone will know how NWA works and have some suggestions for me to try. I called 800 692 6980 and spoke with someone in reservations. Im booked in K Class.

Here is the situation:

I originally booked online 9/16/05 at nwa.com the following flights: (occuring early december)

SJC 6:40am - MSP 12:18pm
MSP 3:10pm - DTW 5:59pm
DTW 7:05pm - BHM 7:55pm

4 days later:
BHM 1:19pm - MSP 3:59pm
MSP 5:13pm - SJC 7:17pm

According to NWA, they emailed on 10/14/05 that my flights had been changed to:

SJC 6:40am - MSP 12:18pm
MSP 3:10pm - DTW 5:59pm
DTW 7:02pm - BHM 7:52pm

4 days later:
BHM 11:05am - DTW 2:03pm
DTW 3:16pm - MSP 4:09pm
MSP 5:13pm - SJC 7:16pm

I had told them that I never recieved the email. I just got back from MUC earlier in the week and was checking NWA.com to ensure my points posted, and then checking my flights, and noticed that they had been changed. The Reservations Agent said that IF I had called within 30 days they would have been able to help me, but since its past 30 days, IM SOL.

Basically they changed my return flight, (2+ hours earlier) and have me leaving BHM at 11:05. Due to prior business commitments,
I am not able to leave until 1:19pm OR LATER. All I want is to change my flight back to my original time or later (can even leave on SUN) without any change fees. The Reservations Agent said I can only change you for the $100 change fee + the difference in fare. This is not the way an airline in bankruptcy should be treating customers.
