It appears that there were issues with the weather which obviously affected the rotation of both aircraft and crew on European services for most airlines. At LHR this morning the issue was ice from the overnight temperatures which led to severe delays and some cancellations on the Euro services. When the initial services are affected then it has a knock on affect for the rest of the day for Euro (and some domestic) services and at times it may be necessary to cancel services. There however did appear to be other issues today on the continent as other carriers also had to cancel services at various points.

I do find it difficult to believe that passengers were not informed of the reasons for the delay and ultimate cancellation. I work in T4 and I know that once the information is available we will happily let passengers know. I will however pass these comments to our managers when I go in and attempt to determine what the issue was with regard to passengers being informed.
