Mrs c and I spent a very pleasant couple of nights at the Homewood Suites in Amarillo last week. When we came to check out we noticed a phone charge on the bill - though neither of us had used the phone.

Now it was only 75c, so the money was trivial (though they did remove the charge), but when I asked at the desk they told us the call had been made at around 4:30pm, when we were both out. The only conclusion we could draw was that the maid had used the phone, which explained why she did such a poor job of cleaning the room.

Anybody else experienced this? Do you think I was being too pedantic in complaining? My Father-in-Law's view was that it starts with 'phone calls and then escalates to theft, if not confronted.
