Lets say I have the same message to send to a variety of people. If the receipient thought that I was sending the same message to multiple people, it would lose some of the specialness. It also saves me time sending the same message over and over again to multiple receipients just to personalize it by adding their name.
Sort of the same as
BCC.
Hammer-man... I agree, and I disagree.
First of all, I think the lowest form of earth shares
private messages. I sent a "respected" moderator on an IBB a "
private" message recently. He replied to me and (unnecessarily) other folks with my original message- actually multiple times. So much for my concern being "private" huh? But from that person, that type of act was completely par for the course. I feel that this person lacks complete tact and social skills AND lacks concern for privacy. He noted who he included on the "TO" but how do I know who else he included. I don't. It wouldn't surprise me if others not noted were sent the message... So much for privacy.
I just think it's a good thing to see who is being sent a Private Message, b/c you can send the same message to 2 people for a 3 way conversation and they know who is included!
