That pic is actually a staged photo. Before I worked in the Crown Room, I worked on the ramp. When I went through ramp training in May 1997, that picture was in a training manual.
The guy that runs that website, I'm sure, has friends at Delta and the picture was given to him.
L1011s were great, and yes they are old now. They will ALL be gone by April 2001, because by that time we should have close to 20 767-400s in service. It would have been earlier than that, but Boeing went on strike this spring, and orders got delayed.
