I belong to Equinox in SF. All the staff seem very friendly. To my surprise, none of personal trainers are pushy about getting me to sign up for personal training sessions. The locker room, at least on the men side, is always clean and well maintained. The machines rarely have sweat residue. I have never had to wait for a machine.

My one complaint is that they are closed on Sunday.

I pay about $110 a month.

Before joining, I also checked out Sports Club LA at the FS. I went on a weekday at around 5:00pm. Every machine was taken, including the weight machines. Very crowded. Very disappointing.
