While Alaska has been dipping into various alliances to better position themselves in the marketplace, but just like JAL, they will eventually give in and settle for an alliance group.

My only hope is that they choose Skyteam. One Worlds' AA seems more interested in AS and has used AS for west coast operation, while reducing SJC presence, but offers fewer connection opportunity in AS's hub Seattle.

There are many Skyteam partners who benefit from AS though.... Skyteam's NW, CO and DL also utilizes AS' for their west coast network. It would makes more sense (at least in my opinion) for AS to forge even greater relations with NW but they've gone to AA for now.
