Then from this I can only conclude that a full fare Y ticket was purchased and your corporate TA upgraded for you at the time of booking.

Anyone else have possibilities?

I will go out on a pretty stable limb here and say that you cannot physically purchase an "I" fare since the change to "I" being the upgrade class. If what you say is true, then you are the first one ever here on FT to be able to do this since it was changed from Tango, to the best of my knowledge.
