In my experience (in AMS) at least pre-FB they did not trust what was printed on the boarding pass. I think it was quite possible to book a ticket on-line, fill in your 'platinum number' (even if you were on the lowest level) by replacing the first digit with the number '1', which meant you would get plat on the ticket. Never tried this so unsure if it was really possible Anyway they always asked for the FD card.
