What is DL's official policy on the pre-assignment of exit seats on int'l. flights?
I'm somewhat confused on this one. I'm 6'7" and thus go out of my way to secure an exit row seat which makes a huge difference on long-haul international flights. Special Member Services has always told me that they have to be assigned at the airport (unlike domestic flights) - fair enough. However, no less than three times in the last six months, I've arrived at the airport when the check-in counters open and been first in line deliberately and asked for an exit row. They've said every time that they've been pre-assigned!! What's going on?? By the way, these instances all happened in European cities where Delta does not have any onward connections from. Thus, it would not have been possible for someone to have requested them prior to check-in where I was. Help!!
