With the help of KVS/EF/QFF found the following routing as a OW130C (with better business seats than TN):

LAX-HKG-SYD-MEL-BNE-LAX

But I went through all the possibilities until i stumbled on this one - NRT, AKL, PPT, HKG-MEL, etc... I couldn't face doing that with the agent. In the end the entire transaction on the phone with the EXP desk took 4 mins.

Having done a quick search on QFF, there is currently a few U options LAX-SYD on say Nov 1 06. For your sake I hope QF frequent flyers don't snap those up before you can see them through AA.
