Thanks to everyone who replied. One follow-up question. When you say "leverage your elite status" what exactly does that mean? Are you referring to upgrades or other things? I know, I'm a total neophyte.

Since you are an AA elite, you may want to look at OneWorld options that will allow you to leverage your AA elite status. If that's the case, consider AMS or LHR. AFAIk, FRA won't get you any OneWorld choices.
