Agreed. I'm curious as to how the OP checked in for a US flight at the UA counter. I remember the puzzled looks when I tried to refund a UA ticket on US metal at the UA counter, I can't even imagine the befuddled expressions on the agents when the OP checked in at the UA counter for a US operated flight...
