I think many employers will spring for VIA1, certainly the government rules (which are fairly restrictive for Business Class on AC) allow it as it's typically competitive with Y on a plane.

I agree the regular VIA service is fine, and I too only use VIA1 to go to Toronto (except when I have a stopover in Dorval on my way back to Ottawa, then I get to experience VIA1 on the short run ).
