Agree. Book the DXB-DOH-DXB as part of your long haul trip. It will probably cost about the same as just going to DXB and the EK fares allow free stopover in DXB, so you are set. From some destinations, it is cheaper to fly to DOH than DXB.
The cheapest MAN - DXB Emirates fare is 478.00GBP + tax in K class
In contrast, the MAN-DXB Emirates K class fare is 538.00GBP+ tax.
This fare allows stopovers, so the 50.00GBP extra is much less than a flight would cost.
It might even be better to fly Qatar Airways and stopover in Doha
MAN-DOH return is 351.00GBP + tax
MAN-DOH-DXB return is 294.00GBP + tax (V class)
