1. Not sure the time frame (unlikely Dec) but I read somwhere AA was switching terminals in NRT so in future this may not be required (probably when JAL becomes OW).
2. 2.5 hours is NOT a lot of time in NRT arrival gate to departure call. Also row 45 in Economy takes a long time to deplane! You have a bit of walking to do (watch signs and also watch the boards .. they sometimes have flights and names written on the board .. the JAL staff are very very helpful) and a bus ride.
3. You may even luck out with another bus ride BACK to the connecting plane .. this seems like 'early boading' as they flight change I think based on available gate vs stand space.
4. Do not think of landing time in any relationship to 'getting off plane time' NRT is HUGE. I landed 55 minutes early one time and said to myself 'darn checked luggage and a meet at HKG or I could try for the earlye connection' that I tought was too close. By the time we taxied to the gate and got 'tugged in' (one gate requires the tug to be attached and then tow the plane in since the jet-wash is too strong at that one location). Anyhow.. 55 minutes landing early resulted in 10 minutes LATE gate arrival.
I would not bother with the expiring RCC pass (unless you can be first in line for a quick shower).
2.5 hours is not that long. do a bit of shopping .. get the legs working again .. try the JAL lounge (if J/P only).
