The important thing to remember is that everything needs to be stowed for take-off and landing. Since you are not in an Upper Deck seat, this means that you have very little storage around your seat at all
As people have mentioned, there is:
- the seat back pocket infront of you
- a little elbow niche by your left elbow (suitable for glasses, eye mask, a little packet of tissues, but not much else)
- there is also a tiny latched locker in the seat behind your feet - again not much room for much.
EVERYTHING else needs to be clear from your seat - all handbags, laptop bags, other bags, shoes, unused blanket packages etc in the overhead bin. This applies to all seats (window, aisle and middle)
To me, the way to spot someone who hasn't flown NCW before is normally someone who has to be asked to stow the mountain of bags around their seat in the overhead bin.
The other thing to make you look like a newbie is not resisting the urge to turn the seat into a bed the very minute you get onto the aircraft...

(haven't seen tyhis happen much though)
Have a great trip
