Thanks for the comments thusfar. I should have said how much Im willing to spend. Basically, I could go $1500 to $2000 for the body but would like to keep it closer to $1000 for the body. I looking at the comments here and at Steve's Digicam site (thanks for that site by the way) Ive sort of narrowed it to the Nikon D70S and the Canon 20D. There is a new Nikon coming out in December that looks very interesting but Adorama says they are scheduled to get it the day before we leave so Im not very comfortable with that. It is also pushing $2000 for the body, certainly over $1500 so if I could find one I would consider it but it is on the edge for what I want to spend. It basically looks like an updated, 10MP version of the D100 (I think that is the older model). Those new Canon lenses look pretty interesting also. Interested in hearing more, thanks again.
