Crown Room

Here is a letter I am planning on sending DL. Any suggestions?

Dear Crown Room,

I have been a loyal Delta Crown Room member since 1993. For many years, I was a Gold Medallion SkyMiles member, and am now a Silver Medallion as I fly less frequently.

I remember about three years ago, Crown Room initiated a policy that members could only use the club on the day of travel (unless they were Gold or above). While the policy perturbed me, it did not affect me, as Delta was my primary carrier. In any event, I have not recently seen this policy upheld. That is until yesterday.

I am now a Premier Executive on United. I have continued my membership with Crown Room because of the reciprocal agreement and because of the warm environment Delta usually provides. But yesterday when flying out of Memphis on a United flight, I encountered a cold greeting at the Crown Room. Even through the Club had only a handful of patrons inside, the agent informed me that I was not allowed in without a same day Delta flight. I asked her is she wanted me to leave, and she replied, “Well, I’ll let you in this time.”

Delta is the only VIP club in the United States which does not welcome its members when flying another carrier. I can’t believe that the Crown Room would want to serve only Delta customers in its smaller markets (like Memphis).

I had planned to renew my Crown Room membership this fall, but am now reconsidering. Delta has already lost my loyalty in the air. What a shame that Crown Room is losing my loyalty on the ground.
