The Argentinian tax is an "Exit" tax... there is no entery tax... and the Chilean 100$ is not a tax per-say. it is a fee that the Chiliean government imposed on US passport holders just as the US government imposed a 100$ visa issuence fee for chiliean passport holders. so in a nutshell

Chile = To enter pay 100$ / To exit FREE
Argentina = to enter FREE / To exit pay 18$ tax
