Regarding elite lines, I flew about two weeks ago and went through the TSA line on the far right that says something like "crew have preference", showing my C boarding pass. This is where the elite line used to be at one time. I'm not sure that it made much difference, as all the lines often feed together past the point where they check your boarding pass...
There are elite check-in lines in the SFO international area which will definitely save you time! Notably, there is a special line for no checked-baggage/no standby. A nice time saver if you can take advantage of it.
A side not regarding elite lines: on my return flight last week in London I did not qualify for the elite lines since my upgrade request had not cleared, and I don't have any status this year. However, there was no wait for anyone when I checked in, and then when growing through the security lines I noticed that the elite "fast track" had a much bigger backlog than the normal security lines!
