More than 1 in your car? Take the car pool lanes; they really save time at the 110-105 interchange. I'm always going Pasadena-LAX, which goes right by the Staples Center. I'd guess 15-20 min if using car pool lanes. With car pool lanes you could pretty much look up the mapquest distance in miles and call that the time in minutes. (i.e. unless there's an accident the carpool usually averages out to about 60 or more mph) Don't forget to allow extra time for rental car return, or car parking shuttle.
