That's the thing though, when using seat mile costs, you have got to fill all the seats. And the A380 does have a lot more seats to fill.

So for airlines looking for something large, but unsure if they can fill an A380 year round, the 747 might be a very attractive option because there are more chances of filling all the seats.

I'm very interested to see how this will develop.
