here's how i would try to figure it....

current annual membership is $450 iirc, w/some discounts for status.

factors....how many years do you think you could use it more than 9 times [$50 day pass vs ann fee] assuming the prices go up in step....how many times would you have access w/o membership, intl j class, plt w/ intl ticket, etc

$5500 would be 110 day passes.. or 12 yrs or so of membership...

what return can you get in a cd... perhaps 4% which would be about $ 220 / yr [pre tax]...
