irritating and unnecessary, but common
This happens to my account every couple of months (approx 3 times so far, I think) when AS updates their flight schedules. Any changes to flight times or flight numbers causes the system to no longer recognize you have a valid reservation. Instead of just displaying the new information like all other sites and showing you the changes, the system deletes all your confirmation codes and even if you can remember them or dig up all the emails, it won't let you view them. You get a prompt to call in and must go over each and every reservation that has a change. Whatever the IT department told the other poster is probably at play as well though it was never explained to me that way.
What irks me is it doesn't even leave an empty *shell* reservation with , at least, the confirmation code and *old* information so you, at a minimum, have a starting point when you call them. Instead, you have to go scour old emails, Easy Biz accounts and/or credit card statements.
*Note* I've had it happen where they all disappear and when just a few vanish, but it's always been when the record's been altered on the vanishing reservations. I can only remember one occasion when the system allowed me to re-enter a reservation. All other times, I received a red error message prompting me to phone in.
Incidentally, I am so psyched the change/reissue desk, at least, is going back to 24 hours. I hope all the great agents who used to assist me are grabbing their graves back!
