In terms of the Breakfast situation, I would have been pleased to see the cooked Breakfast on such a late morning flight. Most of the 10am+ departures I have had recently have been the 'Club Europe Panini' which is inferior to the cooked Breakfast, however most of those flights have been relatively short.
Hopefully your return trip will be less eventful!
When I did this earlier this year, the aircraft had just done a domestic sector (from ABZ I think) and thus the seats would not have been adjusted.
Yes they did breakfast. 10.45 is an odd time - a bit late for breakfast but a bit early for lunch. Hard to know which is best.
