I agree. Have done midwest US to AMS or LON over and back with short layover with virtually no jet lag. Those flights tend to go east in the evening and make sleep on the plane somewhat normal; they return west in the morning with a daytime arrival. Sleep that night. No problem. It may just be on these kinds of flights you're just no changing things that much.
