Yep, you read right Markonen, card charged 27/09.
The unit was DoA out the box, never breathed a breath. Apple sent out a return pack which I received the next day, UPS picked up the defective unit 30/09 and despatched it into the ether, never to be seen again, I got a signature from the UPS pick up driver but their online tracker shows nothing and Apple cannot find the unit.
I gave Apple a couple of weeks and started chasing, "it'll be despatched on Thursday..", "Next Tuesday.. sir.." Cr*p no one checked. I was travelling for a while, so didn't chase it, been back a week now and I have phoned every day and they admit it's lost, but honestly no one has got the authority to send out a replacement. One call last week lasted an hour and I spoke to three people, another on Friday lasted 45 mins and I spoke to two people.
I'm a bit of a gadget man, I have had problems with kit over the years, Dell, excellent with a DoA monitor, Denon stereo, fixed quickly and others I can think of as well. Apple though are just something else.
I'm going to call them again, if it's not fixed it's down to the credit card company. I think I have been rather reasonable..!
But I would like to explain to an Apple senior exec how their customer service is letting them down and that 100+ FT'ers have now read my post and maybe they have been put off buying Apple.
