I have thoroughfully checked that site (all movie clips and pics) among others, got information at many forums devoted to Cancun and Playa but still was difficult to get a clear picture about the situation at the Marriotts until a friend of mine visited them. The beach is gone and there is some severe damage to the pool area so I decided to cancel my January bookings. At least 5 miles of beach in the middle of the hotel zone is affected and will take weeks to recover by bringing back the sand that accumulated in banks in front of Isla Mujeres. I regret that reliable information has been filtered and so much effort is needed to find out which is the real situation at each property.
