sluggoaafa.....perhaps my request could have been worded better...what i want is a pre seat belt light "warning" that it is going to happen...some pilots do it, saying something like i'm going to put the seatbelt light on shortly, if you want to get up for anything, now is a good time...

i was sitting next to an aa captain on a dfw-hnl flight and discussed both ideas with him....as we were starting down, an announcement was made and my seat mate laughed and said "theres the 10 minute warning.....the cpt also said that there was no policy on flight deck pa's relating to the 2 items i mentioned as well as stuff like "on the left side, you can see x". it is at the descretion of the crew....
