AA will not budge on this...

I can understand your dilema in wanting, possibly needing to use the lavatory just prior to landing, but I can assure you that AA will not change it's policy on moving the "remain seated for the remainder of the flight".

Most injuries that are turbulant related occur under 10,000 feet because the aircraft is getting closer to the ground, which has more changing wind patterns, and also possible wake effects from aircraft ahead of us. Ninety percent of F/A injuries happen just prior to landing because we're going through the cabin collecting trash/garbage during these altitude changes and wind changes and often get bounced around.

I just heard a report late last night about a flight going into JFK which hit severe turblunce while the seatbelt sign was off. People were up around the cabin doing those last minute potty breaks before the sign went on. (they were under 10,000 ft)

Would be interesting to hear how AA responds to you though....keep us informed on this!

On the other issue, I couldn't agree more! I live in ORD, and am based at JFK. Most reports from business pax is that they care more about an ON-TIME departure, rather than an ON-TIME arrival. Often times, the actual flying time is much less than the scheduled flying time, so this usually allows those sit-time delays once you arrive. (believe it or not, when departing and the CA gets on and says that we're 'x' in line and it will be about 15 minutes before 'wheels up'...that is always calculated into the scheduled flying time)

However, I hate when I'm commuting home and land in ORD and we're taxiing and all of a sudden I see that we pull into the 'penalty box'. I just sit and cringe. Some airlines slow their planes down in the air, I don't know why we don't sometimes. It would be great if we did change this...it is very annoying not only to pax....but we as crew members don't like it either!
