I second the suggestion of Shepherd's Market. The Turkish place is called Sofra and the Polish-Mexican place has a French name, who knows why - L'autre. there is also a French restaurant, L'Artiste Muscle, a Lebanese place, Al Hamra and several pubs. None of these is terribly expensive by London standards.
