That is the Flyertalk BA wiki... hopelessly out of date and overly geared to America. Hell, they may as well refer to it as British Air!

What I will do is take the basics of the 'Ultimate BA Guide', throw in a few new headers and then take things from there. In theory it should replace the stick at the top of this forum - but let's see.

Now... and suggestions as to what sort of 'style' we want to adopt. Very dry and factual, or more in like with the general spirit of this forum (or should that be fora... which is not a breed of fish ).
Clink... (sound of penny dropping). ^

OK, I am now 'with the programme' and can see the problem and what you want to do.

In my view the critical thing is structure, get that right and all else will follow neatly.

We then need to address the national v. international view. Yes it is too US centric, but if we, say, make it very Britsh centric, how do we cater for international variations? Hence my comment on structure.

I suggest there are two main options:

1) British centric (it is a UK airline and I suspect most members are UK based - though I may be wrong) with helpful notes in each section explaing how things vary for the USA, Europe etc.

2) A wiki for each country/region

Both will require a lot of management to keep up to date (though I suspect Option 1 may be easier to maintain).

Once we have an option agreed we then need to confirm the scope it will cover (so what will be held in the wiki and what we will reference to outside the wiki).

After the scope is sorted we need to agree chapter headings (what is in there now does not look too bad) and then allocate content owners to research and write content for each section.

There also needs to be an overall owner (which could be just you phillipas or a small group) to get the thing kicked off.

What I am not sure about is what is the best mix between trying to 'tightly manage' content and letting it be a 'free for all'. I think that if we believe that it will at some point replace the Ultimate Guide then we have to be more 'hands on' and structured.

I am conscious that I am a relative 'newbie' so I would welcome input from others such as spottie, Tristan727, BAGold, etc. who have more expeirence and importantly much deeper knowledge of how we might best do this.

As for me, happy to help in any way you want and thanks phillipas for kicking this off. I think it is definately a very worthwhile project. ^
