I didn't remember receiving a password in the mail (but I don't open all e-mail from Swiss), so I just requested a new one and completed registration.

I was told the deadline has been extended till sometime in Dec 23 (?)

EDITED: in STC emails of this week they mention the Nov 15th deadline still. Dec deadline "sighting" was on swiss.com I was told.
